    Charles Parbury was a son of Frederick Parbury, a partner in the 19th century Sydney mercantile firm Parbury, Lamb & Co. Charles Parbury was a vice-commodore of the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron.
    In 1864 Charles Parbury's Xarifa beat William Walker's Chance in a southerly gale over 140nm from Sydney to Newcastle and back.
