Caption from "A Different Perspective" exhibition - A procession of horse drawn strippers harvest a record crop from the 5000 acres under cultivation on John and Philip Wood's sheep and wheat property. The Ridley stripper was an Australian invention that removed the seed from standing wheat using a comb and rotating bars and stored it in the 'boot' of the machine for later winnowing.
