  • Signatures / Inscriptions

Signed in brushpoint at lower right "G.W. Evans"
On a label at lower centre, now cut from a larger sheet, is inscribed in faded sepia ink "Parramatta"; beneath that in a later hand is "P.P. King 1815".
Former backing board label is inscribed in ink by A.M. W[illasallen "Parramatta 1815. Painted by Phillip Parker King, Admiral R.N. Son of Gov. Philip Gidley King (my great grandfather [A.M] W[illsallen] 1854". This inscription would appear to be incorrect, as the work is signed by Evans.
