  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Oliver Lucien Samuel Holt, a school teacher of Grafton, New South Wales, was born in London, England. He enlisted at the age of 23 in the A.I.F. in Brisbane, Queensland, June 1915 and embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A23 Suffolk, 28 July 1915. He served as Lance Corporal in the 3rd Australian Field Ambulance in Egypt, Gallipoli, France and Belgium and returned to Australia in Oct. 1919. He was wounded twice and spent much time on an education scheme for his unit.
