    GW Orr worked as a surveyor in NSW, but was not Surveyor-General. 'Sails to satelites, the Surveyors General of NSW' (1786-2007) by Terry Kass refers to Orr as the District Surveyor for Wagga Wagga in 1898 and 1918, and the District Surveyor for Goulburn in May 1923. One of the notebooks records Orr's employment for the Department of Lands, draftsman from June 1890, field assistant from April 1891 until March 1894, draftsman from April 1895, and assistant surveyor from June 1895. The diaries record that Orr was a licensed surveyor in Bathurst in 1897, 1904 and 1908, the District Surveyor in Wagga Wagga in 1819, 1920 and 1921, the District Surveyor in Goulburn in 1922 and a supervising Surveyor in Sydney in 1925 and 1929.
