- Scope and ContentJournal of Mitchell's third expedition. Includes list of the exploring party on leaving Booree (Boree), 17 March 1836; expedition journal, 16 March-13 August 1836. Describes the expedition's progress along the Lachlan, Murrumbidgee and Murray Rivers to the Darling River; the confrontation on 27 May in which Mitchell's party fired upon and killed 7 Aboriginal men; and journey to the region of Victoria Mitchell named "Australia Felix". With sketches of trees bearing carved initials of John Oxley, G. W. Evans and others; sketch of a spear.
