Describes meeting the Henty brothers at Portland Bay, 29 August; the injured Aboriginal girl, Ballandella, being entrusted to Mitchell's care by her mother, Turandurey, 19 September. With sketches of views; "Malga of the coast natives".
Beginning from the end of volume are 4pp. draft of journal of 1835 expedition, beginning at Boree, 5 April; followed by "Meteorological Journal during a journey into the Interior [of] N.S.
