  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

Charles Hassall (1831-1863) was the nephew of Eleanor Terry (nee Rouse, 1813-1898), daughter of Richard Rouse, colonial public servant and landowner.
Richard Rouse came to Sydney with his wife Elizabeth as free settlers in 1801 and in 1813 began building the family home Rouse Hill. Six generations of the Rouse and Terry families occupied the house from its construction until the late 1990s.
