    David Stead was a distinguished conservator. In 1909 he was a founding member of Wild Life Preservation Society, of which he later went on to become secretary and then president. He was a member of many other nature and animal societies, in particular the Gould League of Bird Lovers.

    George Robertson was a bookseller and publisher, and a founder of Angus and Robertson.

    1 letter written by George Robertson to David Stead, commending him for an article on birds which Stead had written for the Encyclopedia of Australia. Robertson then inquires as to whether the introduction of rabbits is the reason for the increase in size of the wedge-tailed eagle's eggs.
