    Cecil Verne (d. 1975) was born in Auckland, New Zealand. He began performing in 1908 as a young teenager, eventually opening his own show business companies in Sydney, Australia (The East Vaudeville Company, and later The Australian Amusement Agency). He toured Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji, before retiring to England in 1960 with his long-time co-performer, wife Dorothy.
