  1 watercolour of the Star flower showing green leaves with a white star shaped flower.
  
  Caption label no. 5 on mounted board. "Star flower. Gardenia scabrella. 'We saw native fires at a distance to the north-east of our camp, but they did not come near us. We shot three ducks today … I also obtained specimens of a beautiful plant, a shrub about two feet high, with white sweet scented blossoms, belonging to the natural order Rubiaceae'. W. Carron, 1 October 1848".
