  1 watercolour of the Gidee gidee vine showing green leaves with seed pods containing bright red seeds.
  
  Caption label no. 6 on mounted board. "Gidee gidee. Abrus precatorius subsp. africanus. 'Three spears were thrown into the camp and fell near the fire, but fortunately without injuring any of the party; the night being so dark we could not see. We entertained fears that our horses might be speared. However, the blacks gave us no further molestation. We pursued our northern course, the ground becoming very rotten. By the creeks where the ground was sandy, we saw Abrus precatorius'. W. Carron, 11 September 1848".
