Hatcher speaks about her schooling and then her tertiary education at Macquarie University, studying economics, accounting and languages, and taking part in the Chinese students club.

Hatcher discusses her work in the family enamelware business in Hong Kong and visiting the family factories in Africa. She discusses the changing trends, which led to the diversification into kitchenware and cabinetry in partnership with the German company, Bosch. She talks about setting up a kitchenware showroom at Beaumont House, which is how she met members of The Women's Club, which was located in the same building.

Hatcher talks about being a Board member and participating in the negotiation with the developers to have the Club remain in the premise of the new building, planning with architects and designers, and the opening of The Women's Club new premises. She talks about the various activities she participates in, including various circles and lunches, using the accommodation of affiliate clubs interstate and overseas, and significant members and staff.
