With note after title inset in mount below cartoon 'The Chinese Commissioners paid an official visit to the N.S.W. Colonial Secretary, and were received by Mr Jamieson, of Prince, Ogg and Co., and Sir Henry Parkes, Sydney Daily Telgraph'.

This is repeated on a typed label on the back of the cartoon, with date 'May 21, 1887'.
