    Colleen Klein was born in Blacktown, NSW in 1921. She graduated from the University of Sydney where she distinguished herself by winning three prizes for English literature. She was encouraged by the poet A.D. Hope to write poetry. She has written five novels including A space for delight (1988) and Deidre Kincaid (1978) as well as short stories and plays.
