  This album was owned by Charles Macarthur (1820-1871). It was split up when offered for sale by Kenneth Hince at auction on 29 August 1985. The Library has subsequently acquired three more of the parts first offered in the sale - see public source note.

  PXD 526/18 appears to be a copy of plate 10 (opp. p.154) "Valley of the Grose", which was published in Sir Thomas Mitchell's Three Expeditions into the Interior of Eastern Australia, 1838, 981/2D1 Mitchell Library.

  Ellerslie ... (nos 11-13) relate to another pencil drawing "Ellerslie looking NE. 1843 C McA", photoprint at SPF/N.S.W. - RESIDENCES - ELLERSLIE, 1843. Ellerslie [cottage and kitchen garden?] (no. 14) relates to "Ellerslie as it was in 1846 C McA", SPF/N.S.W. - RESIDENCES - ELLERSLIE, 1846. Other photoprints of drawings by Charles Macarthur are at N.S.W. - RESIDENCES - BENDINNE, 1846; - COPE COPE, 1859; and - MANAR HOUSE, BRAIDWOOD (Pic.Acc.1485; negs at FM2/665).
  Vineyard Mill (no. 28) closely resembles another pencil drawing attributed to Edward Close, photoprint at SPF/N.S.W. - RESIDENCES - VINEYARD, 1830.
