  • General note

    It has been suggested by Alan Davies, Curator of Photographs, Mitchell Library that the photographer of the New South Wales views was John Paine (ref. Sydney Morning Herald, 23 and 29 November 1875), the photographers of the Victorian views were Charles Nettleton and Donald McDonald and Fred Kruger for the Aborigines and Maoris. The carte-de-visite photoprint of the water-tower has the stamp of Stevenson & McNicoll, Melbourne.
