  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    George Millar (ca. 1891-1950), accountant and surf-lifesaver, was born in Glasgow, Scotland. After more than four years' service with the A.I.F. in WWI, Millar became an accountant and in 1926, set up in partnership with Alan William Kinglsey Wicks. Millar was involved in surf-lifesaving from an early age and in 1910, was a member of the first team to be presented with the Bronze Medallion. He held a number offices within the Surf Life Saving Association of Australia until his death in 1950. Millar was survived by his widow Lily, nee Blakeney.
