  • General note

The Sydney Morning Herald of 21 November 1846 p.2 notes that a "lady modeller" had completed a wax portrait of Leichhardt - this is most likely a reference to Mrs Walker.

Confirmation of Leichhardt identification comes from comparison of medallion with Charles Rodius' lithograph of Leichhardt at P2/385

The diary of Philip Chauncy (Theresa Walker's brother) records, on 13 April 1848, casting a wax portrait of Leichhardt cf. DLMSQ 11 vol.6
