Scope and Content
The two Building Account Books include cost estimates, details of materials required and a record of expenditure on building work undertaken by Edwards for both private individuals and government departments in the Goulburn District and Sydney. Public buildings erected or renovated by him during the period include Goulburn and Yass Gaols, Crookwell Police Barracks and Braidwood Court House. Some entries are undated, and only one book includes an index. A little over half of each book remains blank. Some loose letters regarding particular projects are included.
