Sadie Irene Pepper was born in 1903, the daughter of theatre loving parents. From an early age they encouraged her to go on the stage and she made her debut at the age of ten. For the next twenty years she played in pantomimes, revues and vaudeville for J. C. Williamson and the Taite Bros. Sadie Pepper toured New Zealand on several occasions and knew prominent actors such as Robert Helpman and Gladys Moncrieff. She retired in 1930 to take up hairdressing and died in 1994.
