  In elaborate Aesthetic/Eastlake-style wooden frame with gilding, stencilling and black lacquer front edges decorated with incised corner designs. Grey paper mount with painted decorative motifs and watergilding on inner oval. 55 x 44.6 cm., inner edge of frame; 77 x 67.5 cm., outer edge of frame. Possibly American in origin.
