Lala Fisher and Frank Hill were partners in, and editors of, Sydney's The Theatre Magazine, which she had bought in 1909. In 1896 John Norton, newspaper owner and politician, acquired the Sydney weekly The Truth, notorious for its sensational journalism. Norton married Ada McGrath in 1897 and their daughter Joan was born in 1907. Fisher had campaigned for Norton when he won the seat of Darling Harbour in 1907. Hill also had been a stenographer to Norton and an editor of The Truth. - Scope and Content1895-1981; Letters received from John Norton, 1907-1915, his wife Ada, 26 Apr. 1914, and his daughter Joan, date unknown, with letters from John Norton to Frank Hill, 1909-1915, many of the forementioned letters bearing typed annotations by Hill; and telegram received by Ada Norton informing her of John's state of unconsciousness, 6 Apr. 1916; autograph sepia photoprint of John Norton, 20 Oct. 1914, and two sepia photoprints of Ada Norton, 1914, date unknown; and newscuttings and printed material, 1895-1981
