Mary Isabel Catherine (Molly) Newman, born 16th April 1897, operated a successful dress shop business “Molly Newman Salon” in North Sydney for 43 years, retiring at the age of 95 and was awarded the Order of Australia medal in 1990 for her services to the retail fashion industry. Molly Newman travelled extensively throughout her life, on 38 great ocean liners including the SS Queen Mary, visiting every continent except the Arctic and the Antarctic.
