  In 1931 Max Dupain was employed for three years with photographer Cecil Bostock whose work was characterised by versatility and technical excellence. Bostock trained Dupain in aspects of photographic technique.
  Precise lighting and reflection was used to highlight the chrome surface of this toaster. The background is a ground glass screen, frequently used at Dupain's Clarence Street studio -- Exhibition caption, 1997
