General note

The AWA Tower in York Street, completed in 1939, clearly dominates the skyline of the city. The horizon changed dramatically after the developments resulting from the removal of height restrictions of city buildings to 150 feet (45 metres) in 1957. The Cahill Expressway, completed in 1958 to allow east-bound traffic to bypass Sydney's Central Business District, is also visible -- Exhibition caption, 1997
