  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    The first representative RAAF cricket team to play in England was formed in 1943. In 1945 the Australian Services XI, comprising members of the RAAF and the army, was formed to play a series of five "Victory Test Matches" against England. Subsequently the team toured India and Ceylon on its way back to Australia. The team included two players, Lindsay Hassett and Keith Miller, who played test cricket for Australia and several who played for their states - Keith Carmody, Stan Sismey, Cecil Pepper, R.S. Whitington, Jack Pettiford and Bob Cristofani.
