Robert Winters was born at Glebe, NSW in 1873. He graduated in mining engineering from Sydney University in 1912 and was a foundation member of the Associate Institutory of Engineers. During his career he worked as a geologist in Northern Territory, Uganda, Western Australia, Queensland and New Guinea. - Scope and Content'The Geology of the Woggaman Province Northern Territory of Australia', by R.
