    Marie Byles was a solicitor, bush walker, mountain climber and conservationist. She expounded the teachings of the Buddha and was an original member of the Buddhist Society of NSW. For a time in the 1950s she lived as a hermit in the Himalayas and journeyed to Gandhi's ashram. She published several books including Footprints of Gautama the Buddha (1957) and The Lotus and The Spinning Wheel (1963).

    Carbon typescript of an unpublished book about Gandhi with an introduction by Maude A. Roydon. It includes manuscript annotations and corrections.
