  "We lived in 6 x 8 ft tents for years. One per man. We were paid 30 shillings for 30 hours. They gave us the tent, lanterns and so on. The first 8 weeks were spent paying off the equipment. In the ninth week we were paid 2 pounds, 6 shillings for 30 hours. They replaced the tents after three years as they were a bit delapidated". (Spoken by Ron Piddick 16.7.88) - Raymond Terrace, NSW
