    'Come in spinner' by Dymphna Cusack and Florence James won the Sydney Daily Telegraph novel competition in 1948. It was published in 1951 by Heinemann in an abridged version after massive cuts were demanded by the Daily Telegraph. In 1988, the complete edition was published by Angus and Robertson after James reassembled and edited the original text. The Australian Broadcasting Commission produced a mini-series based on 'Come in spinner' in 1990.
