  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Edward Henry Lloyd, pastoralist, was born in England in 1825 and came to Australia in 1849, along with his brothers John C. and Charles. In 1853 Lloyd, in partnership with his brothers, purchased W.C. Wentworth's Liverpool Plains interests, comprising 'Burburgate' and six other stations. Between 1858 and 1859 Edward Lloyd was M.L.A. for Liverpool Plains and Gwyder. From 1863 to 1865 he was a Member of the Legislative Council of NSW. Edward Lloyd died in 1889. John C. Lloyd was M.L.A. for Liverpool Plains between 1864 and 1869.
    Brent Clements Rodd, solicitor, was born in England in 1809 and travelled to Australia in 1822. Rodd was a successful solicitor who specialised in debt collection. He opened his own legal practice in the 1860s. Henry Parkes was a client and friend. In the early 1850s Rodd worked behind the scenes for Parkes and Rev. J.D. Lang. Rodd died in 1898.
