- Scope and Content4 Apr. 1787; Mr Faucetts, No.14, Craven Buildings, London. Autograph letter signed by Blackburn in which he announces to his mother that he has been appointed Master of His Majesty's Armed Storeship, Supply, bound for Botany Bay. He says that 'I did All in my Power to Decline Accepting of this offer - But Am Told that I must go. Unless I mean to throw myself Entirely out of the Service'. He complains of the short notice and the difficulty of preparing in time, and is afraid that his chest of belongings will not arrive before his departure from Portsmouth. 1 1/4 pp.
