The Sydney Mozart Society was founded in 1950 by David Worobin O.A.M. and a group of dedicated music lovers. The Society's primary aim is to promote a more comprehensive understanding of the life and works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and other composers of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The Society also seeks to promote and encourage young talent by supporting musical eisteddfords and providing financial assistance to young musicians so that they may further their studies. David Worobin was President 1950-1992 and Martin Cooper was elected.
