  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    John Black Henderson, born in London in 1827, was a painter, amateur photographer, and surveyor. Henderson studied art in Edinburgh and architecture in London under Gilbert Scott. After migrating to Australia in 1851, he initially worked on the Ballarat goldfields then joined the Victorian Government Survey Office in Melbourne.
