    Sir Kenneth McCaw (1907-1989), solicitor and parliamentarian, was born at Chatswood, Sydney, son of Mark and Jessie McCaw. He was educated in country schools and worked at various occupations before moving to Sydney in 1922. He undertook study at night, first to matriculate and then to study law. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1933 and practiced in various law firms. He was admitted as a barrister in 1965. McCaw was elected Liberal member of the NSW Legislative Assembly for the seat of Lane Cove (1947-1975). He was Attorney-General of NSW from 1965 to 1975.
