    Titled at lower right. Signed & dated beneath title "Maurice Felton Surgeon. Sydney / del.t March 27th 1841."

    Inscribed on reverse:
    Rupert Kirk born 4/10/1806. Second of the 13 children born to Rupert & Jane Kirk. Rupert Kirk Senr. Born London 29/6/1777 & died Greystanes, Prospect, NSW 9/3/1850.

    The 12th child Matilda born 19/1/1827 married Andrew Louis McDougall of Roxburgh of Roxburgh Place, Baulkham Hills NSW & later 1876 Police Magistrate of Grafton.

    N.B. There is a memorial tablet in Cobbity Church to Rupert Kirk Senr. of Woodford who died 9/3/1850 aged 73 years & his wife Jane who died 10/11/1876 aged 90 years.
    * Their son Rupert was surgeon to 2nd Light Cavalry Regt. (Indian Army) He died 31/5/1852 aged 46 years (see pencil etching of handsome tomb erected by his brother officers “as a mark of their esteem & affection” at “Rajcoot” near Bombay, India)
