Pixie O'Harris (1903-1991), was born in Wales. Her father, George F. Harris, was a noted portrait painter. She arrived in Sydney with her family, and became known there for her drawings for children. She illustrated her own books (over 20), and those of other authors. She also decorated with murals more than 50 children's hospital wards, day nurseries, baby clinics and schools. She exhibited widely with her art for adults, including portraits. She wrote plays & poems, was awarded the Coronation Medal, the Jubilee Medal and was made an MBE.
