Raymond Wenban (1893-1990) was an artist and illustrator. During World War I, Wenban served with the AIF field ambulance. He studied art with Julian Ashton and Elioth Gruner. Wenban illustrated 'The Sanitarium Children's Abbreviated Australian Encyclopaedia' and A.W. Reed's 'An Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Aboriginal Life'. He also illustrated publications by Eleanor Dark and Russel Ward. He was actively painting up to the end of his life and an exhibition of his painting was held only a few months before his death in 1990.

Reminiscences include Raymond Wenban's memories of his life at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth centuries. He describes houses, transport, and costume.
