• Scope and Content
  Photoprint copies of entries made in a family prayer book, 1794-1890. Manuscript entries written on various pages of the prayer book, beginning with a record of the birth of Thomas Hassall at Coventry on 29 May 1794. Entries include Hassall family and Shelley family members. An undated typescript extract of selected entries compiled by Miss Edith Oakes (daughter of Archdeacon George Spencer Oakes, who was the son of John Leigh Oakes and Elizabeth Shelley) and signed by Helen Chandler accompanies the photoprint copies, which was acquired in 1972.
