    Dr Peter R. Crowther is the Keeper of Geology, Museums and Galleries of Northern Ireland at Ulster Museum, Botanic Gardens, Belfast. He has published and edited works on palaeobiology and palaeontological. During the course of his research into Frederick McCoy's time as first Professor of Geology and Mineralogy at Queen's College Belfast (1849-1854) Crowther transcribed Adam Sedgwick's letters sent to McCoy, held at the Ulster Museum, and compiled an index to McCoy's letters received, held at the Mitchell Library, State Library of New South Wales.
