  • Scope and Content
    Bruno Favetta discusses his experiences as a nineteen-year-old Italian immigrant in Australia being interned at Hay, N.S.W. at the beginning of World War Two (from June 1940), for over four years. Favetta talks about his time in the camps, the conditions, other internees, rules and punishments. Favetta discusses daily life including food, his separation from family, the fate of attempted escapees and his release in 1945.

    MLOH 151/1 Side A: Sound in left speaker only. Interview starts at 00:00:49. Occassional background noises including children and sound of recording device. Voices quiet throughout interview. Interview ceased abruptly at 00:13:00 and is followed by music. Recording from 00:13:00 is redundant.
