    During World War 2 Frazer Gill served as an artillery signaller in the 2/5 Field regiment of the 7th Division. He saw action in Papua New Guinea and Borneo, including the Battle of Balikpapan. After the war he graduated from the University of Sydney with a law degree and practised as a solicitor until a few years before his death.
