Established in 1852, the printing firm S.T. Leigh & Co. Pty. Ltd began in Melbourne and opened in Sydney a few years later. These photographs were taken in the period that the firm was part of the manufacturing centre at Raleigh Park, Kensington, Sydney. In addition to letterpress, lithographic and offset printing, the firm also made cartons and boxes, cigarette paper, and engaged in silk screen work, sheet metal printing, roller making, canister work, and collapsible tube extrusion. -- Reference: Smoke Signals: Journal of W.D. & H.O.
