    WILLIAM MACLEAY'S PERSONAL EFFECTS (Nos. 1-6)
    1. Mortar Board (hat in three pieces) made from black velvet with solid crown. There is a separate printed manufacturer's label with text "E. Millet University Robe Maker 361 George Street, Sydney". Handwritten above the address on this label is "Wm Macleay ..?". Tassel is missing.
    2. Signature plate for visiting card. Made of copper with inscription "Mr Macleay"

    3. Exposition Universelle Internationale R.F. Paris, 1878. Dedication to William Macleay in French in gold text inside case on lid
    4. A.E. Royal Commission, Australian International Exhibitions, Sydney 1879-1880 & Melbourne 1880-1881. Inscription to "The Hon. William Macleay M.C.L. for Services"
    5. Exposition Generale, 1882. Inscription to "Hon W. Macleay, Woolongerie" surrounded by laurel and olive wreaths on reverse, coat of arms on obverse

    11-17. Coins collected during the voyage of the H.M.S. Beagle, ca. 1819-1834

    MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS (those with no provenance) (Nos. 18-21)
    18. Continental pocket sundial or equinoctial dial in wooden case, ca. 1797-1843. The octagonal brass case houses a glazed compass with hinged latitude arc, hinged chapter ring inscribed with Roman numerals, and sprung gnomon to cast its shadow on the dial. The brass base plate is decorated with engraved lines, curves and leaves. The underside of the dial is engraved with place of manufacture, maker's name, and latitude details: "Eleva = Poli Augsburg Paris 48 Cracau Prag 50 Leipzig 51 Schreteger" [i.e. Johann Schrettegger]
    19. [Stamp / die plate for letterhead with original envelope]. The stamp is rectangular, with incised decoration, manufacturer's mark, and inscription "Elisabeth [i.e. Elizabeth] Bay House Sydney". Made by Parkins & Grotto
    20. Masonic Apron belonging to the office of Junior Grand Warden of the Grand Lodge of Scotland. The apron is worn around the waist and fastened with 2 green silk ribbons. Made predominantly from green silk, the apron is rectangular in shape and has a cream leather insert in the front. The sides and base are trimmed in gold coloured lace with an acorn pattern. An embroidered thistle decoration is on the flap. Affixed to the centre front above the thistle is a metal plaque (the Plumb) with the design of a column with a sun.
    21. Sash belonging to Office Bearer of Grand Lodge of Scotland. Made of green silk, the sash is worn over the right shoulder under the left arm.
