    Stuart Campbell was chief pilot of Douglas Mawson's expeditions to Antarctica, 1929-31. In the 1930s he did important aerial survey work in Papua New Guinea and served in the RAAF during World War 2.

    22 November-4 December 1930. ; A typed transcription entitled 'The Voyage to Antarctica Aboard the S.Y. Discovery. Second Voyage of the British, Australian, New Zealand Research Expedition. 1929-1931 Under leadership of Douglas Mawson. Aircraft. Gypsy Moth'. This is a fragment only of Campbell's diary of this expedition. The original diary covers the period 22 November 1930 to 27 March 1931.
