John Bray inherited land at Mulgrave Place, NSW, from his mother, Mary Bray, afterwards Llewellyn. He also acquired land in the County of Argyle, in the Airds district and at Campbelltown. His nephew and son-in-law, Thomas Bray, who owned property in and near Sydney, died intestate and the estate was administered by his wife, Charlotte Squire Bray who also owned properties in Pitt Street, Sydney - Scope and ContentPapers re estate of John Bray, 1823-1936, including the will of Mary Llewellyn, 1827
