J. L. Young, 1849-1929, born in Londonderry, Ireland migrated to Australia in the 1850's, where he worked as a station hand until 1870. He then went to Fiji, and in 1875 began his career as a trader, particularly in copra around the Pacific Islands - Scope and Content1. Journals (4), 1875-1911 (PMB 21-23); 2.
