York Motors Pty. Ltd. was formed in 1932 by Richard Cobden to distribute Morris cars in New South Wales. The company expanded its business to include other states and the distribution of other makes of cars. In 1939 York Motors (Holding) Limited was formed to acquire York Motors Pty. Ltd. It became a public company. In later years subsidiary companies were formed, including Lancaster Motors, Dominion Motors, Peter Lloyd, U.K. Motors, Rose Motors, Lanyork Parts and York Toyota. During World War II the production plants manufactured military equipment. The Company conducts technical courses to train its dealer mechanics in current developments. - Access Conditions
