  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Dowell O'Reilly (1865-1923), school teacher, poet, author and parliamentarian, was born at Sydney, N.S.W. In 1884 he published Australian Poems, and in 1888 A Pedlar's Pack. He was elected the member for Parramatta in the NSW Legislative Assembly (1894-1898), and was a master at Sydney Grammar School (1898-1909). In 1913 he published Tears and Triumph and in 1920 a collection of short stories from periodicals titled Five Corners.
